Bat guano in a Sudden Valley attic: the new roof already solved it

Heads up: these job stories may include photos of real pests and wildlife. Not for sensitive viewers.

Attic rafters under the new roof and ridge vent in a Sudden Valley home, sealed against bats
Leftover bat guano on attic insulation in a Sudden Valley home

We were called to inspect an attic in Sudden Valley where bats had been living. The home had recently gotten a new roof.

The inspection showed the new roof, and most importantly the new ridge vent along the peak, is keeping the bats out. We found no sign of bats getting in now.

The bat guano we found was left over from where the old roof vent had been damaged, which is how the bats got in before.

If you're replacing a roof and have had bats, make sure the ridge vent and other vents are installed tight. It's one of the best ways to keep them out for good.
