Raccoons tearing up a new lawn in Geneva, near Sudden Valley
Heads up: these job stories may include photos of real pests and wildlife. Not for sensitive viewers.

Out in the Geneva neighborhood, heading out Lakeway toward Sudden Valley, a homeowner had just put in a brand-new lawn. She'd fenced the whole yard to keep the deer off it, but raccoons were still climbing in at night and digging it up.
We set humane live traps in the yard. Over the next few nights we caught three raccoons, and the one in the photo was the third and final one causing the trouble.
With the culprits handled humanely and by Washington Fish & Wildlife rules, the new lawn finally gets a chance to grow in. A deer fence won't stop a raccoon. They climb right over.
