A Ferndale attic full of live bats, and a one-way door out

Heads up: these job stories may include photos of real pests and wildlife. Not for sensitive viewers.

This Ferndale attic had a lot of live bats tucked into the gaps along the roof framing.

We sealed up the entry points and installed a bat valve, a one-way exit tube. Bats can crawl out at night to feed, but they can't find their way back in.

Timing matters with bats. This job was done in September, right inside the mid-August to mid-October window. That's when young bats can fly on their own, so the whole colony gets out safely and none are trapped inside.

Hearing scratching or squeaking in the attic in summer? Call early so we can inspect and plan the exclusion for the right time.
