Baby raccoons out of the crawlspace, and back to the wild

Heads up: these job stories may include photos of real pests and wildlife. Not for sensitive viewers.

These two baby raccoons were taken out of a crawlspace. Once the adult raccoons were caught as well, the whole family was released back into the wild.

Of course, we secured the crawlspace entrance first, so they couldn't move back in and cause more problems under the house.

Washington State law doesn't allow raccoons to be relocated, but it does allow live catch and release on the same property. That's why sealing up the entry point matters so much: the animals stay free, and they can't get back under the house.

It's always a good day when the animals get to go free.
